Anthony Hamilton has one of those voices that will be remembered as one of the greatest of our generation. He has been making incredible music since the early 90′s and even though many artists come and go, you just know that this one will be making records that “stick to your ribs” for decades to come.

Here’s one of his biggest songs, Charlene:

Every year we have REAL performers that know how to truly work a stage and give a great show at the Living Legends Awards banquet.  Anthony fits the mold perfectly!  This is going to be a great event!

Every year at the Living Legends Awards Banquet we usually hear an incredible voice set the tone. 2007 will be no different. This year we will have Olivia singing the national anthem.

She has one of the most angeleic voices I’ve heard.  If you have heard her sing you already know what we have in store.  We are happy to have her and she really is going to start the night off right!

Chrisette Michelle Is Incredible!

You may not know her name but you have heard her in songs such as Lost One’s by Jay Z and hits by Nas as well. She has one of the most Unique Voices in the industry. Island Def Jam surely thinks so since the man who brought us Toni Braxton, Usher and many others – L.A. Reid – signed her.    Check her out here:

She’s an incredible talent and we are looking forward to an incredible show at The Living Legend’s 2007 Banquet!

Here’s the short rundown on what’s going on:

The 2007 Honorees:

Clarence AvantClarence Avant – One of the most legendary black entertainment executives on this planet. Some call him a veteran business man, those that know him just call him the “Godfather” because that’s exactly what he has been to so many young executives such as LA Reid who Clarence has mentored over the years. He has been honored numerous times over the past 40 years for his work in Blues, Jazz, R&B, Rap and Rock. He is one of the few executives of any color accomplished enough to have his own Wikipedia entry which you can read here.

Ken JohnsonKen Johnson – Vice President of Urban Programming for Cumulus Media. In his current position, Johnson oversees the programming of 25 stations in 15 markets in the Urban, Urban AC and Gospel formats. During his tenure at Cumulus he’s been involved in over 20 stations launches. Ken has also made his mark on top stations such as WHUR, WILD and many others.

Catherine BrewtonCatherine Brewton – 2007 honoree Catherine Brewton is a present day music publishing powerhouse. Brewton directs all writer/publisher relations activities in BMI’s Atlanta office, while working closely with the BMI staff in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and London in signing new talent to the company. She and her staff create showcases, songwriter programs and seminars around the country to educate and expose new talent. They also produce the extremely popular BMI Urban Awards and the Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards every year.

The performers this year will be Chrisette Michelle, Anthony Hamilton and Olivia will be singing the national anthem.

The 2006 awards dinner at the Westin in Times Square was our most entertaining show to date. Tyrese, Monica & Lil Mo performed to a packed audience of the entertainment industry’s finest as well as politicians and other well known individuals.

L.A. Reid was there to receive his award for his many many years of hitmaking that just doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. You know the humble saying, “We’re just trying to keep lights on?” Well, L.A. Reid has been keeping the lights on for the entire music industry for the last 15 years with his multiple diamond selling projects!

Skip Cheatham from KKDA in Dallas was there to accept an award for his 20 years of looking like a 21 year old… oh and his many years of being one of radio’s top programmers. There’s not many radio professionals with his level of stability and success in one of the biggest markets in the country. The scary part about Skip is that he’s just getting started.

And, last but certainly not least, the one and only Stephen Hill from B.E.T. was there to receive his award for his many years of breaking records in radio and his years of television programming at both BET and MTV. Stephen gave the most memorable performance/acceptance speech for his award we have ever seen. If you weren’t able to make it you missed one heckuva show!

We are going to rustle up some video of it soon so stay tuned to this blog!
